The magazine presents its year in review, starting with “What is Architecture Classified By?”, a conversation between Tomohiko Yamanashi, Satoru Ito, and Akihito Aoi, and followed by a critical essay by acclaimed architect Hiroshi Naito in which he reflects upon their views and offers his own perspectives about Japanese architecture, post-3.11. Additionally, more than 80 specially selected projects by Japanese architects are presented with detailed drawings and a selection of photographs. These range from Maki and Associates’ 4 World Trade Center and Nikken Sekkei’s Ritz-Carlton Kyoto, to the Aspen Art Museum by Shigeru Ban and the Besançon Art Centre by Kengo Kuma.
