TC Cuadernos 146: Luciano Kruk Arquitectura 2009-2020

Architecture has always found a fundamental field of experimentation in single-family housing, when the simple image that equals everything transcends to create an architectural work that serves as a support for research and visual reflection.

This reflection of the young and promising Argentinean architect Luciano Kruk  (°1974) is subject of of this monograph collecting plans and details, together with  photographs of 13 detached houses and 3 collective housing buildings made in the last decade.
The volumes of his first houses are essentially simple, clear and forceful, later they are enriched with subtleties, folds and delicate transformations.

Each decision is part of a set of visual values ​​in a predetermined search: nothing is left over, nothing is missing. It’s in an exercise of synthesis as difficult as it is delicate.

Luciano Kruk recovers this tradition of material language in the best way. The material language of Luciano Kruk could be linked with brutalism, with the São Paulo school,  with the work of Paulo Mendes da Rocha, and with the concrete textures in certain works by Le Corbusier.
